Edward Hyun Kang killed in deadly Castroville crash

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is currently conducting a thorough investigation into a fatal collision that occurred on Sunday morning, tragically involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The incident unfolded at approximately 4:28 a.m. along Espinosa Road, located just east of Highway 183. According to initial reports from the CHP, a black Mercedes A220 was traveling westbound on Espinosa Road at the time of the collision. Simultaneously, a 42-year-old man from Moraga was present in the westbound lane, the reasons for which remain unknown.

The collision proved catastrophic as the pedestrian found himself directly in the path of the oncoming Mercedes, leaving the driver with minimal time to react and no opportunity to avoid the collision. The front of the vehicle struck the pedestrian, resulting in severe injuries.
