      Manhunts for Jerome Jacobs continues, suspect in a Madison shooting

      Following extensive searches yielding no sign of Jerome Jacobs, Eau Claire police have lifted the shelter-in-place recommendation. However, authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings or information regarding Jacobs’ whereabouts.

      An incident report from the Madison Police Department details Jacobs’ involvement in a shooting on Sunday near Trafalger Place and Andrew Way. The incident left two individuals injured with gunshot wounds, alongside vehicles riddled with gunfire, with witnesses reporting as many as 20 shots fired. While one victim has been treated and discharged, the other remains in critical condition.

      Jacobs was last sighted by police in Eau Claire on Tuesday, where he allegedly fled after crashing his vehicle upon attempted apprehension. Subsequently, police have identified him as a suspect in an active incident within the Randall Park neighborhood.

      In an update, the Eau Claire Police Department (ECPD) released an image of Jacobs and confirmed his identity in connection to the Madison shooting. Described as wearing all blue attire, Jacobs is considered potentially armed, prompting authorities to caution against direct confrontation.

      For public safety, individuals are advised to avoid the area or seek shelter if currently within Randall Park. ECPD emphasizes the importance of immediate reporting to authorities upon sighting Jacobs, urging against approaching him directly.

      Responding to the ongoing situation, ECPD has requested public cooperation in refraining from the Randall Park vicinity. Their efforts are aimed at resolving the situation swiftly and safely, underlining the significance of community support in law enforcement operations.
