      Resident Manager Orelia “Lia” Anderson Killed in Apartment Complex Shooting in Sacramento

      A heartbreaking incident unfolded at an apartment complex in south Sacramento on Monday, resulting in the death of Orelia “Lia” Anderson. The Retirement Housing Foundation (RHF) has identified Anderson, 36, who served as the Resident Manager of Cardosa Village and River City Residence Club.

      The tragic shooting occurred at the Cardosa Village apartments on 66th Avenue, a community designed for individuals with psychiatric disabilities and their children. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, 66-year-old Leslie Weikert, a long-time resident of the complex, was arrested on Monday night in connection with Anderson’s murder.

      Orelia Anderson began her tenure with RHF in 2019 and was promoted to Resident Manager in 2020. She was known for her dedication and passion for her role and the residents she served. The Retirement Housing Foundation expressed profound sorrow in a statement, highlighting her commitment to RHF’s mission of assisting those in need.

      “In discussions with her colleagues, Lia conveyed her passion for her role and her residents; she held RHF’s Mission of assisting those in need in high regard. We are devastated by this loss.”
