Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting at Harbor House Apartments in Claymont, Delaware

CLAYMONT, DE – A 27-year-old man has been arrested following a fatal shooting at the Harbor House Apartments in Claymont on Friday morning. The New Castle County Police Department identified the suspect as Michael Toombs, who allegedly shot and killed 35-year-old Devontre Taylor shortly before 10:30 a.m. The incident occurred near the 100 block of Harbor Drive in the apartment complex.

According to authorities, Taylor, a Wilmington resident, was critically wounded in the shooting and was transported to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save him, Taylor was pronounced dead upon arrival. Investigators quickly began piecing together details of the incident, leading them to identify Toombs as the prime suspect. The charges against Toombs include murder, robbery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, among other serious offenses.
