Man Kills Mother of Three, Then Takes Own Life in Northwest Miami-Dade While Children Were Home

MIAMI-DADE, FL – In a heartbreaking tragedy, police have identified Marcos Antonio Gonzalez, 40, as the man who shot and killed Raiza Cajuso, 39, the mother of their three children, before turning the gun on himself in their Northwest Miami-Dade home on Saturday morning. The incident unfolded while the couple’s children, ages 15, 13, and 9, were present in the house.

According to law enforcement, the fatal shooting occurred around 8:34 a.m. on the 12000 block of West Randall Park Drive in the Westview neighborhood. Gonzalez, who was no longer living with Cajuso following their separation, arrived at the residence and confronted her. After an argument, he shot her and then took his own life, police confirmed.

The eldest child, a 15-year-old, made the distressing 911 call, alerting authorities to the situation. The youngest child was transported to the hospital for observation, as a precaution, after witnessing the horrifying event. Fortunately, the other children were unharmed physically, but the trauma they experienced is immeasurable.
