      19-Year-Old Aaliyah Bonman killed in Fatal Fresno Shooting Following Fight

      FRESNO, CA — The Fresno Police Department has identified 19-year-old Aaliyah Bonman as the victim in a tragic shooting that occurred following a confrontation at a hookah lounge in northeast Fresno. The incident, which took place early Saturday morning, has left the community in shock as details about the case emerged on Monday.

      Officers responded to the parking lot of a Rite-Aid located at Cedar Avenue and Nees Avenue around 3 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Bonman suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper body. Emergency responders administered first aid at the scene before transporting her to St. Agnes Hospital. Despite efforts to save her life, Bonman was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.

      According to police, the altercation that led to the shooting began as a physical dispute between Bonman and 21-year-old Penelope Mehr outside a nearby hookah lounge. The fight escalated and continued into the Rite-Aid parking lot, where Mehr allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired at Bonman.
