      Norristown Woman Killed in Lower Nazareth Township Collision Identified

      LOWER NAZARETH TOWNSHIP, PA — A fatal collision in Lower Nazareth Township claimed the life of a 67-year-old woman from Norristown on Tuesday morning. The Pennsylvania State Police have identified the victim as Susan Henderson, a resident of Montgomery County. Two other individuals sustained injuries in the tragic incident.

      The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. when a Colonial Regional police officer observed a 2018 Mercedes Benz committing a minor traffic infraction on State Route 191. The driver of the Mercedes, a 27-year-old male, turned onto Hecktown Road and rapidly accelerated, attempting to evade the officer.

      According to state police reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle near 4170 Hecktown Road. The Mercedes veered into the oncoming lane, colliding head-on with a 2017 Kia Sportage driven by Henderson. The impact of the crash left Henderson critically injured.

      Emergency responders rushed Henderson to St. Luke’s Anderson Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The Northampton County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Henderson died from multiple blunt force injuries and has classified her death as a homicide.

      The driver of the Mercedes and a male passenger were also taken to the hospital. State police have not disclosed the specifics of their injuries or their current conditions. The identities of these individuals have not been released at this time.
