      Dartmouth Man to be Charged in New Bedford Stabbing Death

      A 31-year-old Dartmouth man, Tyler Dow Baglini, will face murder charges in connection with a fatal stabbing on Atlantic Street in New Bedford, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III. The tragic incident took place Friday afternoon, claiming the life of Kerri Fidalgo, a 31-year-old New Bedford resident.

      Baglini was apprehended shortly after the incident and taken to Saint Luke’s Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, where he was held overnight. He is set to be arraigned Monday morning in New Bedford District Court on a charge of murder.

      Authorities, including Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the district attorney’s office, New Bedford Police, and Homicide Unit prosecutors, are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the homicide.

      The incident unfolded just before 5:00 p.m. on Friday when New Bedford Police responded to a report of a stabbing at 86 Atlantic Street. Upon arrival, officers found Fidalgo inside her apartment, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Despite receiving immediate medical aid, she was rushed to Saint Luke’s Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

      Kerri Fidalgo was well-known and loved in her community. Friends describe her as a kind, reliable, and creative person who brought warmth and happiness to those around her. One friend, who attended Susan’s Dance Studio in Fairhaven with Fidalgo and her sisters, called her “an incredible loss to our community.” Others echoed similar sentiments, recalling her as an “awesome person” who was always there when needed.

      Fidalgo worked at Navionics in Dartmouth, and her tragic death has left the community in shock. As of now, investigators have not yet released information regarding a possible motive for the fatal stabbing. More details are expected to emerge in the coming days as the investigation continues. The community remains heartbroken over the loss of a beloved member, while many wait for justice to be served.
