      23-Year-Old Jakele Allen Identified as Victim in Southeast D.C. Shooting

      WASHINGTON, D.C. ā€” The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred in Southeast D.C. on Monday as 23-year-old Jakele Allen, a resident of Northeast D.C. The shooting took place on October 21, around 9:44 a.m., at the intersection of 16th Street and Kentucky Avenue.

      Officers responded to the area following reports of gunfire. Upon arriving at the scene, they found Allen suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was unconscious and unresponsive when police arrived. Despite efforts by first responders to save his life, Allen was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.
