Blount County Head-On Collision Claims Life of Woman, Injures Man

A deadly head-on crash in Blount County, Alabama, on Friday evening claimed the life of a woman and left a man seriously injured. Alabama State Troopers identified the deceased as 31-year-old Kali M. Heaton, a resident of Remlap. The accident occurred around 7:33 p.m. on Highway 79, approximately three miles southwest of Locust Fork, according to officials.

Heaton was driving a Mazda 3 when her vehicle collided head-on with a Ford Ranger, driven by 44-year-old Joshua Cory Dean Carr of Arab, Alabama. Due to the severity of the impact, Heaton was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency personnel. She was reportedly the sole occupant of the Mazda. The circumstances leading to the collision remain unclear, but authorities are investigating any possible contributing factors.

Following the crash, Carr sustained significant injuries and was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for urgent medical treatment. While officials have not yet provided an update on his condition, initial reports indicate his injuries are severe.
