Bay City Woman, Jessica Yax Killed in Tragic Parking Lot Accident

A devastating accident claimed the life of 31-year-old Jessica Yax on Thursday, November 14, at the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission in Bay City. The Bay City Department of Public Safety confirmed the fatal incident, which occurred in the mission’s parking lot where Yax was residing.

According to authorities, Yax was walking through the parking lot at approximately 4:41 p.m. when she slipped and fell. A vehicle driven by a 58-year-old Saginaw resident struck her shortly after. Emergency responders pronounced Yax dead at the scene. The driver was unharmed and is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.

The case remains under review, and authorities have stated that once the investigation is complete, the findings will be forwarded to the Bay County Prosecutor’s Office to determine if any charges will be filed.
