      Amanda Pulver Identified as victim killed in Independence Township Shootin; Anthony J. Garvin arrested

      INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ—The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal shooting incident last month as 21-year-old Amanda Pulver. The tragic event occurred on June 27 at approximately 8:19 a.m. on Alphano Road, near the border of Allamuchy Township.

      Authorities have disclosed that the suspect, 34-year-old Anthony J. Garvin from Netcong Borough, was being pursued at the time, and the incident has been classified as a targeted act. Residents in the nearby area were advised to stay indoors during the police response.

      Garvin was apprehended around 11:30 a.m. in Pennsylvania and taken into custody. According to the prosecutor’s office, Pulver and Garvin were known to each other prior to the shooting. Garvin now faces serious charges, including first-degree murder for the fatal shooting of Pulver and second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose.

      Currently, Garvin is detained at the Berks County Prison in Leesport, Pennsylvania, where he awaits extradition to New Jersey. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as new information comes to light, as stated by the prosecutor’s office.

The Warren County Tactical Team, along with various units from the New Jersey State Police—including the Crime Scene Unit, Canine Unit, Emergency Response Bureau, and Aviation Bureau—provided essential support.
