      Mother of Three, Courtney Mitchell, Identified in Fatal Ipswich Stabbing – GoFundMe

      Ipswich, Suffolk – Courtney Mitchell, a 26-year-old mother of three, has been identified as the victim in a tragic stabbing incident that occurred on Burrell Road in Ipswich on Tuesday night, August 6, 2024. Suffolk Constabulary has confirmed that Mitchell succumbed to her injuries despite the efforts of emergency services.

      Emergency services were dispatched to Burrell Road shortly after 7:10 p.m. following reports of a woman having been stabbed. Upon arrival, officers found Mitchell with severe injuries. Despite immediate treatment from Suffolk Accident Rescue Service’s critical care paramedics, Mitchell was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. Suffolk Police released a statement confirming the tragic outcome, saying, “Officers attended and found a woman who had suffered serious injuries. Despite treatment by emergency services personnel, including critical care paramedics, the woman, aged 26, sadly died a short time later in hospital.”

      In connection with the stabbing, a 27-year-old man from Ipswich has been arrested. The suspect, who has been locally referred to as “L Boogie Volt,” has been charged with murder. Suffolk Police confirmed, “A 27-year-old man from Ipswich was arrested this morning in Ipswich on suspicion of murder. He has been taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where he will be questioned by detectives. A police cordon remains at the scene, and a road closure is in place at Burrell Road while inquiries take place.”

      Superintendent Andy Martin addressed the public, stating, “Residents will continue to see an increased police presence in the area as our investigation continues. While we are in the early stages of our inquiries, we believe the victim and the suspect were known to each other. We urge anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward.”

      Detective Chief Inspector Tam Burgess added, “Emergency services, including several police resources, were deployed to the scene. There will be an increased police presence throughout tonight and the coming days. A murder investigation has been launched, and we are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. We believe the parties involved were known to each other.”

      A GoFundMe account has been created to help with Courtney Mitchell’s funeral expenses. The account was set up by Brandon, the father of one of Mitchell’s children. He wrote, “Hello everyone, I’m fundraising for my son’s mother, Courtney, who was brutally murdered on August 6. She was a mother to three before a horrible human took her life. I just want her to have the best send-off for her and her family.”
