Devin Lundgren and James Barna Among Four Fatalities in New Hampshire Car Accidents

A devastating weekend in New Hampshire resulted in four fatalities from separate car accidents within a 24-hour period. On Saturday morning, three individuals lost their lives in crashes in New Ipswich and Francestown, contributing to the grim tally.

Shortly after midnight, the New Hampshire State Police responded to a serious two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Turnpike Road and Temple Road. The crash involved a Honda driven by 21-year-old Devin Lundgren from New Ipswich, who was traveling northbound when he collided with a Dodge Ram heading south and attempting to make a left turn. Tragically, both Lundgren and his passenger, 18-year-old James Barna from Sharon, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 36-year-old man from Greenville, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts, for treatment. Authorities suspect that speed may have played a role in the collision, but the investigation is ongoing to determine all contributing factors.

Later that morning, around 4:30 AM, another fatal incident occurred in Francestown. A single-vehicle crash on New Boston Road resulted in the death of a driver whose identity has not yet been disclosed. According to police reports, the vehicle struck a tree, but further details about the circumstances surrounding this crash remain unclear.

The tragic events followed a separate accident on Friday, where a 17-year-old from Antrim lost his life in a crash on Perry Pasture Road in Dublin. Two other passengers—a 16-year-old boy from Antrim and a 16-year-old girl from Peterborough—were injured in that accident. The series of fatal accidents has left the community in mourning and raises concerns about road safety in the area.

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the New Ipswich accident or may have information related to the ongoing investigation to contact Trooper Isaiah Acquaye at 603-223-4381 or via email at Isaiah.J.Acquaye@dos.nh.gov. As investigations continue, the focus remains on understanding the factors that contributed to these tragic accidents and preventing similar incidents in the future.
