Tragic Accident Claims the Life of Daviess Community Hospital Doctor on Interstate 64

A tragic accident on Interstate 64 has resulted in the death of Dr. Suresh K. Lohano, a well-respected doctor from Daviess Community Hospital. Dr. Lohano, a resident of Washington, was driving his Tesla when it collided with the rear end of a semi-tractor trailer at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The collision occurred at the 99.5-mile marker in Harrison County, leaving the community in mourning.

According to the Indiana State Police (ISP), the semi-truck involved in the accident was traveling eastbound when it experienced a mechanical failure, causing it to lose power. The truck’s driver, unable to move into the right lane or onto the shoulder due to heavy traffic, was forced to bring the vehicle to a halt in the left lane of the interstate. In an attempt to warn other motorists, the driver called 911 and placed orange safety triangles behind the truck.

Tragically, Dr. Lohano’s Tesla approached the stationary semi-truck but was unable to merge into the right lane in time, resulting in a fatal collision with the rear of the truck. First responders found Dr. Lohano deceased at the scene, the impact of the crash having caused fatal injuries.
