Dwaun Simpson, 28-Year-Old Man dies in fatal Northeast D.C. shooting

Washington, D.C. — The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Friday morning in Northeast D.C., leaving a Southeast D.C. resident dead. The incident took place on November 1, 2024, at approximately 3:54 a.m. in the 100 block of 44th Street, Northeast. Officers from the Sixth District responded to the location following reports of gunfire and discovered an adult male unconscious, not breathing, and suffering from a gunshot wound.
