Man Fatally Shot by Sacramento Deputies Identified as 24-Year-Old Israel Price
Authorities have identified the man fatally shot by Sacramento County deputies last Thursday as 24-year-old Israel Price from Carmichael. The incident occurred after an overnight search stemming from a dispute between roommates that escalated into gunfire.
The initial confrontation began late Wednesday night around 11:40 p.m. Deputies were called to an apartment on the 6600 block of Moraga Drive in Carmichael following reports of a shooting during a disagreement between Price and his roommate. Upon arrival, officers found that Price had fled the scene armed with a revolver-style handgun.
A search ensued, and Price was located hours later on the rooftop of a home on the 6800 block of Ashfield Way in Fair Oaks. At approximately 3:45 a.m., deputies reported that Price fired his weapon toward them. Three deputies responded by opening fire, striking Price.
