Lubbock Police Release Details on Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting of Jacob Alonzo During Domestic Disturbance

The Lubbock Police Department has released updated information regarding a tragic officer-involved shooting that resulted in the death of 38-year-old Jacob Alonzo. The incident occurred during a domestic disturbance call on the evening of June 24.

Officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Valencia Avenue at approximately 8:37 p.m. in response to reports of an intoxicated man causing property damage inside a residence. According to the police, the caller had taken refuge in a bathroom with three children to escape the disturbance.
