Jacub Carver charged with murder after killing Ronnie Rowe in Green Township
GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio – A fatal shooting on Thursday evening has left a 24-year-old man dead and a 25-year-old suspect facing murder charges, according to Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman.
The incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Disterdick Lane. Deputies and detectives arrived to find Ronnie L. Rowe, 24, of South Shore, Kentucky, deceased in the driver’s seat of a Chevy Equinox. The vehicle was riddled with bullet holes, and investigators determined Rowe was fatally shot while seated inside. His body has been sent to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.
Authorities quickly identified the suspected shooter as 25-year-old Jacub Tyler Carver of Franklin Furnace, Ohio. Carver was detained at the scene and has since been charged with one count of murder, a first-degree felony. He is being held on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Monday, November 18, 2024.
Detectives discovered that another male had been inside the vehicle with Rowe during the shooting. This individual fled the scene but was located minutes later walking along U.S. Route 52 in the Franklin Furnace area. He was detained and brought to the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office for questioning.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) has joined the investigation to assist with processing the crime scene. Detectives are working to determine the events that led to the deadly encounter and have not yet disclosed a possible motive.
