      Man Identified in South Side Shooting on Judson Avenue

      Youngstown, OH – The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office has identified the man found dead on Judson Avenue in the South Side as 51-year-old Jermaine Tillis. According to the Youngstown police report, officers were dispatched to the scene shortly after 5 a.m. and discovered Tillis in the driveway of a residence with a gunshot wound to the head.

Including the officer-involved shooting of Mathue O’Malley on June 13, the total would rise to 15 homicides in 2024. Last year, the city recorded a total of 22 homicides.
