      Son of Montgomery Pastor Dies in Apparent Suicide at Age 21 – GoFundMe

      Montgomery, NY – The community of the Amazing Grace Apostolic Church is grieving after the tragic loss of Josiah Dottin, the 21-year-old son of Pastor Danny Dottin and Lady Christine Dottin. Josiah passed away from an apparent suicide on Saturday, August 3, 2024. His body was recovered from the Hudson River on Sunday afternoon.

      The incident occurred when Josiah reportedly jumped from the mid-span of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge just before 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. He was a resident of Montgomery. State Police confirmed that the body of the young man was located by the State Police Underwater Recovery Team around 2:25 p.m. on Sunday.

      In the wake of this heartbreaking event, Bishop John C. Williams of Faith Alive Ministries (FAMCHURCH) expressed his sorrow: “It’s with profound sadness that we have to share the sudden and tragic passing of our beloved nephew Josiah Dottin! Josiah is the son of our dearest friends and covenant brother and sister Pastor Danny Dottin and Lady Christine Dottin of the Amazing Grace Apostolic Church. Our hearts are extremely heavy right now. But we submit to God in this tragic situation. And we trust that he knows all things and will activate the revelation of this moment! Please keep the Dottin family and all of us who are connected and family in fervent prayer! Even through tears, our faith is still intact.”

      A GoFundMe account has been established by the family to assist with the funeral expenses and to honor Josiah’s memory. The family released a statement through the GoFundMe page: “We regret to inform you of the sudden and tragic passing of our son, Josiah Daniel Dottin on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Although our hearts are broken and devastated we are looking to the Lord Jesus Christ for peace and comfort during this time of mourning. We ask that you respect the family’s privacy. All we need at this time is space and grace. Information about arrangements will be forthcoming.”

      Josiah’s death has left the community in deep sorrow, as he was known for his vibrant personality and kind heart.
