      Kali Lynch-Roberts killed in Highland shooting, Suspect in Custody

      SHREVEPORT, LA – A tragic shooting early Sunday morning, November 17, claimed the life of a 29-year-old woman and resulted in the arrest of a suspect. The incident adds to the growing concern over violent crime in the area.

      Around 12:23 a.m., officers from the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) responded to reports of a shooting at a residence in the 100 block of East Herndon Street. Upon arrival, they detained the alleged suspect, who remained at the scene, and found a victim inside the residence suffering from critical injuries.

      First responders attempted to save the victim’s life. SPD officers performed CPR until the Shreveport Fire Department (SFD) arrived and took over. Despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at 12:55 a.m. The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office later identified the deceased as Kali Lynch-Roberts.

      According to investigators, a handgun was used in the fatal shooting. The detained suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, has been charged with second-degree murder and was transported to the Shreveport City Jail. Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances of the shooting.

      This tragedy marks the 47th homicide in Caddo Parish this year and the 44th within Shreveport city limits, highlighting an alarming trend of violence in the region. Local leaders and residents have expressed growing concerns about public safety and the need for community-based initiatives to address the root causes of violent crime.
