      Kelley Denise Cincurak and Two Others Dead in Hernando Shooting Incident

      At approximately 8:02 AM on Sunday, August 4th, 2024, officers from the Hernando Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting multiple gunshots on Mason Drive. Upon arrival, officers secured the residence and discovered three individuals with gunshot wounds. The tragic incident has left the local community in shock and mourning.

      One of the victims, Kelley Denise Cincurak, a 51-year-old woman, was found critically injured on the back patio. Medical personnel promptly provided life-saving aid before airlifting her to Regional One Health. Despite their best efforts, Cincurak succumbed to her injuries, marking a devastating loss for her family and friends. The community has since expressed an outpouring of grief and support for her loved ones.

      Inside the house, officers found two additional victims. Mary Janice Ray, a 78-year-old woman, had been shot while watching TV in the breakfast room. The serene activity of a quiet morning was shattered by the violence that ensued, leading to her untimely death. Her presence in the community will be sorely missed by those who knew her.

      In the master bedroom, Rickie Thomas Ray, a 71-year-old man, was discovered with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Two firearms were found near him, suggesting a tragic culmination to the horrific event. Both Mary and Rickie Ray were pronounced dead at the scene, and their bodies were turned over to the DeSoto County Coroner for further examination.

      The Hernando Police Department, in collaboration with the Mississippi Crime Lab, is thoroughly investigating the incident. Evidence collected at the scene is being analyzed to piece together the exact sequence of events. Law enforcement is diligently following up on all leads to uncover the motive and circumstances surrounding the tragic deaths.
