19-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Early Morning Accident on LA 23 in Plaquemines Parish

Louisiana State Police Troop B began investigating the fatal single-vehicle incident involving a pedestrian just after 4:00 a.m. on LA 23, north of Seatrain Road. According to preliminary findings, Dotson was struck by a 2004 Toyota Tundra while attempting to cross the northbound lanes of LA 23 from east to west.

The accident occurred as the Toyota Tundra was traveling northbound in the left lane. Dotson entered the path of the oncoming vehicle, resulting in a collision that proved fatal. Emergency responders pronounced Dotson dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time, was not injured in the crash.
