Lane Frazer died by suicide weeks after girlfriend Taylor Shelton took own life; Candlelight

      Lane Frazer

Lane Frazer, a beloved truck driver and business owner from Valley Grande, Alabama, tragically took his own life on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Frazer, who owned Frazer Enterprises LLC and TexShed Transport LLC, had been battling mental illness. His death occurred just two weeks after his girlfriend, Taylor Shelton, also died by suicide. Frazer was described as a good man who dedicated his life to the trucking business. In the hours leading up to his death, he left a cryptic message on his Facebook page, hinting at his despair and the struggles he faced.

Lane Frazer was a man in his 30s from Selma, Alabama, who had a deep passion for driving. He was the owner of Frazer Enterprises LLC, a van repair shop, and TexShed Transport LLC, a cargo hauling company. Known as a great driver and a loyal friend, Frazer’s dedication to his businesses and his community was evident to all who knew him.

The tragic end of Lane Frazer’s life was marked by his battles with mental health issues, exacerbated by the financial collapse of his lifelong business. In an emotional post made early Tuesday, Frazer recounted the journey of starting TexShed Transport LLC in 2019 with just one truck and his last paycheck. Despite his best efforts, the business faced severe challenges, including neglect from insurance companies and eventual bankruptcy. “Feb 2019 TexShed Transport LLC was started with one truck and the last paycheck from the job I quit to start it. From Texas to Mississippi and back to Alabama after I sold out of the barn business to transfer to general freight and the dream of a family-type company,” Frazer wrote. “At its height, it was 7 trucks on the road and 12 trailers hauling flatbed and stepdeck freight. I’ve lost trucks, drivers, a divorce, family, and more money than you could imagine. Something I’ve always loved since a child I now hate with every part of my body.”

Frazer’s last post expressed his deep frustration and sorrow over the downfall of his business and the personal sacrifices he made. He spoke of the relentless financial pressures, the unpaid invoices, and the struggles with insurance companies. His words painted a picture of a man who had given his all but was left with nothing. “It has come to an end, between people not paying or filing bankruptcy or insurance companies pushing us out and everything else going on in America right now,” he lamented. “So before you crack that ‘it must be nice’ joke, I can tell you it cost so much to end up with nothing in the end.”

Lane Frazer was found unresponsive by a close friend and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death was determined to be suicide. Frazer’s passing has left a void in his community and among those who knew him.

The tragic loss of Lane Frazer underscores the devastating impact of mental health struggles and financial distress. His death has prompted an outpouring of grief and calls for greater awareness and support for those facing similar battles. As friends and family mourn his passing, they remember Frazer not just for his business acumen but for his kindness, dedication, and the legacy he leaves behind.
