Memphis Man Fatally Shot in Drug-Related Incident in Nashville

The Metro Nashville Police Department has reported the fatal shooting of London Montgomery, a 23-year-old man from Memphis, in a drug-related incident on Sunday night. The shooting occurred in a parking lot on Hamilton Crossings Road, a location that quickly turned into a crime scene following the tragic event.

Authorities responded to the scene just before 10 p.m., discovering Montgomery in the driver’s seat of a stolen Mercedes SUV, which had crashed into a retaining wall. The initial investigation revealed that Montgomery had arrived at the parking lot shortly before the incident and had parked next to a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

According to police findings, an individual from the Jeep exited the vehicle and briefly entered Montgomery’s Mercedes. Moments later, another suspect emerged from the Jeep and approached the Mercedes, seemingly initiating a robbery attempt. In a desperate bid to escape, Montgomery tried to drive away but was shot multiple times by one of the suspects.
