Round Rock, TX – Round Rock Police have confirmed a tragic shooting incident at Old Settlers Park during the city’s annual Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 15th. Fourteen victims were transported to local hospitals with gunshot wounds, and two individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.

Among the deceased is Lyndsey Vicknair. Her husband shared a heartfelt tribute: “My Queen Lyndsey, Captain Vicknair, was killed in a mass shooting in Round Rock, TX, during the Juneteenth concert last night. It was just her and me; I’m grateful we left the kids at home. I did everything I could to keep her with us. Please pray for our babies, Kenzi (7), Kairo (4), and Kya (1). Thank you to all the family and friends who drove hours to be with us last night. I don’t know what kind of test this is or what lessons will come from it, but with the Most High on our side, there is nothing we can’t overcome together. She was the greatest mother and wife. You wouldn’t believe how much she elevated me and our children time and time again. I wouldn’t be the man I am today without you, my love. I’m so sorry I couldn’t get you back home safely. I love you in ways I didn’t know I was capable of loving. I will make sure we make you proud. I won’t let you down. I love you and miss you deeply.”

The Round Rock Police Department is actively searching for a suspect in connection with the shooting. The suspect is described as a black male with a thin build, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, with short dreadlocks, and wearing a white hoodie at the time of the incident. Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts or who may have witnessed the incident is urged to contact Detective Maio at 512-341-3135 or email rmaio@roundrocktexas.gov. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects involved in this incident.

The shooting began around 10:50 p.m. during an altercation between two groups at the event, according to Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks. “Two people died as a result of the incident, and multiple injured bystanders were transported to area hospitals,” Chief Banks said during a news briefing early Sunday morning. He emphasized that the victims were not part of the altercation.
