      Tragic Shooting Claims Lives of Lyndsey Vicknair and Ara Duke at Round Rock Celebration

      Round Rock authorities have identified Lyndsey Vicknair, 33, of Manor, and Ara Duke, 54, of Pflugerville as the victims tragically killed in a shooting incident at Old Settlers Park during a Juneteenth celebration on Saturday evening.

      The shooting occurred around 10:50 p.m. following a confrontation between two groups at the event. Despite neither Vicknair nor Duke being involved in the initial altercation, they were fatally injured, alongside 14 others who sustained injuries during the incident.

      Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks expressed profound condolences to the families of the victims, emphasizing community solidarity during this difficult time. Chief Banks reassured the public of law enforcement’s commitment to ensuring community safety and swiftly bringing those responsible to justice.

      IDEA Public Schools confirmed Ara Duke as an employee and mourned her loss in a heartfelt statement, offering support to affected students and the community grappling with the tragic loss.

      The search for the shooting suspect remains active, with authorities providing a description of a 19-20-year-old Black man, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a thin build and short dreadlocks. The suspect was last seen wearing a white hoodie, and police urge anyone with information, video footage, or photographs related to the incident to come forward.
