      The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Officer Goux’s death. Sheriff Rob Elbon provided details about the discovery of the incident. Deputies responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle along Route 33 East, just outside of Elkins, at approximately 11:30 A.M. on Friday. The caller had reported that the car’s window appeared to be shot out.

      Upon arriving at the scene, deputies found Officer Goux inside the vehicle with a gunshot wound. Despite their efforts, he did not survive. The RCSO, along with the Mountain Region Drug and Violent Crime Task Force and the West Virginia State Police, is conducting a thorough investigation.
