      Reilly MacDonald and Mark Sutcliffe Identified as Victims killed in Georgina Park Shooting

      York Regional Police have charged two Barrie men with first-degree murder in connection to the double shooting that occurred Wednesday at a park in Keswick, York Region. The accused, John McKay, 19, and Ethan Pashak-McNeil, 20, face charges following the fatal shooting of two individuals at Bayview Park.

      The incident unfolded on September 18, when police were called to the area of Bayview Avenue and Lowndes Avenue at 7:28 a.m. after reports of gunfire. Upon arriving, officers discovered two men with gunshot wounds. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

      The victims have been identified as 21-year-old Reilly MacDonald of Keswick and 39-year-old Mark Sutcliffe. Authorities have not provided Sutcliffe’s hometown, and the nature of his connection to MacDonald remains unclear. Investigators believe that the accused and victims were known to each other, though the specific relationship between them is still under investigation.

      “This was not a random act,” police said in a statement, assuring the public that there is no ongoing threat. However, detectives are still piecing together the exact sequence of events that led to the fatal shooting. Authorities are asking anyone with information, or those who were in the area at the time, to come forward.

      Local residents are also encouraged to review any security camera or dash-cam footage they may have from around the time of the incident. Police hope this may provide additional clues to aid the investigation.
