      Woman and Young Child Killed in Tragic Durham Head-On Crash

      A devastating head-on collision in Durham on Saturday night resulted in the deaths of a 35-year-old woman and a young child under the age of five. The accident occurred at approximately 8:37 p.m. on Page Road near Holloman Road, as reported by the Durham Police Department.

      The incident involved two vehicles: a black Infiniti QX60 driven by 56-year-old Rodney Brower and a blue Chevy Cobalt operated by Sherri Walker, 35. According to police, Brower was traveling northbound on Page Road when his vehicle collided with Walker’s southbound car. Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene, and both drivers were rushed to the hospital. Sadly, Walker succumbed to her injuries shortly after arriving, while Brower sustained only minor injuries and has since been treated.

      In addition to Walker, her vehicle carried four passengers, three of whom were young children. One of the children, tragically, was pronounced dead at the hospital following the crash. The other two children and the adult passenger in Walker’s car survived with non-life-threatening injuries, though they remain under medical supervision for their injuries.

      Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident, and details surrounding what led to the collision are still unclear. At this time, no charges have been filed, and police are working to determine whether speed, impairment, or other factors contributed to the crash.
