Riverside Man Killed in High-Speed Crash Identified as Tionte Eddings

Riverside, CA – Authorities have identified the 28-year-old man killed in a high-speed crash in Riverside on Tuesday night as Tionte Eddings, a resident of Riverside. The accident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. on Sycamore Canyon Boulevard, near Cottonwood Avenue, in a warehouse district close to Interstate 215.

According to Sgt. Emilio Angulo of the Riverside Police Department, Eddings was a passenger in a 2017 Nissan 370Z driven by a 29-year-old man from Moreno Valley. The vehicle was reportedly traveling southbound at high speeds when the driver lost control, causing the car to veer off the road and strike a tree. The force of the impact caused severe damage to the vehicle, trapping both occupants inside.

Emergency responders from the Riverside Fire Department arrived quickly at the scene and worked to extricate both men from the wrecked car. Eddings was rushed to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley, where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries. The driver of the Nissan sustained only minor injuries and was treated at the same hospital.

The Riverside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is now looking into the accident’s circumstances, including factors that may have led to the crash. At this time, it is not clear if alcohol or drugs played a role, and investigators are awaiting toxicology results to help determine potential contributing factors.
